Maintaining healthy weight is incredibly important for better quality of life. According to ABS’s National Health Survey in 2017-18, around 67.0% of Australian adults and 24.9% of children were overweight or obese. Being overweight, obese, or underweight can increase the risk of ailments and diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Heart diseases, Stroke etc. 

For healthy weight management, it is important to make and maintain healthy and realistic habit changes for the long term.

Exercise

For better physical and mental wellbeing, exercising for at least 30-45 minutes every day is essential. These 30-45 minutes could include, walking, swimming, cycling, dancing, strength training etc. Exercising not only helps in losing and maintaining weight but also increases bone and muscle function, improved concentration, energy levels and mood.
