Both AstraZeneca and Moderna vaccines are available at all Simply Pharmacy stores. The Moderna vaccine is the second mRNA vaccine granted provisional approval by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), for individuals aged 12 years and older. The Australian Technical Advisory Group in Immunisation (ATAGI) recommends the Moderna vaccine is preferred for adults under 60 years.

 

WHEN CAN I BOOK THE MODERNA VACCINE?

All Simply Pharmacy stores have placed an order for the Moderna vaccine and are eagerly waiting for their arrival. Once we know the exact date of the vaccines’ delivery, we will post updates on our social media (Facebook, Instagram) and website to let everyone know when booking dates will be available.

If you want to join our call list, please send an email to customerservice@simplypharmacy.com.au with your name, contact number, date of birth and which Simply Pharmacy store is closest to you. We will then give you a call to let you know when the Moderna vaccine bookings are open.

 

HOW DO I BOOK FOR THE COVID-19 VACCINE?

You can book now for the currently available COVID-19 vaccine by clicking on this link and selecting your local Simply Pharmacy.
Click ‘Service’, choose vaccine type then hit SEARCH. The booking form will search for the next 7 days. If no appointments are showing, change the date to a week later and search again.

 

 

 

WHAT IS THE MODERNA VACCINE?

The Moderna (Spikevax) vaccine is the second mRNA vaccine granted provisional approval by the Therapeutic Goods Administreation (TGA), for individuals 12-60 years old. It requires 2 doses, at 4-6 weeks apart. The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) have advised the COVID-19 Pfizer (Comirnaty) or Moderna (Spikevax) vaccine is preferred for adults under 60 years.

WHAT IS THE ASTRAZENECA VACCINE?

The AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria) vaccine approved for use by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) for those aged 18 years and over. It requires 2 doses, at 4-12 weeks apart. The AstraZeneca vaccine is highly effective at preventing death and severe illness among people who have COVID-19. The Australian Technical Advisory Group (ATAGI) recommends this vaccine for adults aged over 60 years, as the benefits are believed to outweigh the risks. Adults under 60 years of age may still choose to get the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine if the benefits outweigh the risks for the individual.

COVID-19 vaccines are free for everyone in Australia, even if you are not an Australian citizen or permanent resident. Our pharmacists have been trained to administer vaccinations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the community. 

 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR VACCINATION?

The Australian Government wants everyone in Australia to have access to a safe, free, COVID-19 vaccine if they choose to be vaccinated.
